Whitehaven Beach and the Whitsunday Islands

Today I got to accompany a friend to Airlie Beach and take a boat out to the Whitsunday Islands, more specifically Whitehaven beach. We went out on his boat for a 40 minute ride to Whitehaven beach, the crystal clear aqua waters and pristine silica sand of Whitehaven stretch over seven kilometres along Whitsunday Island , the largest of the 74 islands in the Whitsundays.

We brought lunch and drinks as well as our swimsuits and relaxed on the white sandy beaches for the day. We dug holes in the sand and formed lounge chairs for ourselves since there isn't anything on this beach unless you bring it in with you :).

The beast of a truck that pulls around Nic's 32ft boat. That thing can really go, 50mph is fast on the water.

The marina we left out of at Airlie Beach

Whitehaven beach all to ourselves, minus the odd annoying seagull.

Cole and Jacob sitting on the front of the boat enjoying the sun, but not the bumps.

Back in Airlie Beach Harbor. A beautiful sailboat waiting to head out on it's next adventure.

Myself, Ivy, & Nic on Whitehaven Beach having a wonderful afternoon! Their hospitality and generosity has been amazing. I'm sad I only have 4 days here, but I will for sure be making a return trip here.

Here is a little video I put together of the boat ride out there and a quick look around Whitehaven Beach.
